Growing up in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood, my parents instilled in my sisters and me the understanding that we have an obligation to give back to the community. Their example inspired all their children to pursue careers in service to others. Giving back simply came naturally.

With over eighteen years of non-profit management, marketing and public relations experience, I have the qualifications and experience to serve in the Illinois General Assembly.

Working for non-profit organizations, I developed a tenacity to work within a limited budget to produce results.  I learned from experience careful stewardship of resources leads to increased analysis of outcomes and attention to the bottom line.  The environment has given me the opportunity to learn the importance of collaboration and team building, with proven results.

I bring a successful track record of networking locally, regionally and nationally. I am equally comfortable working with elected officials, religious and community leaders.  I worked closely with some of the most influential corporate leaders in the community.

I pride myself  in outreach aimed at people of various ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds. With a professional background that includes health care, social services, ecological restoration and environmental education, I bring a diverse background perfect for state government.
